Birds n’ Beers at the Rio Salado Audubon Center has become something of a tradition. Over nearly seven years, an enthusiastic crowd has gathered around a happy hour of sorts including craft beer, wine, and snacks – while learning about birds, animals, and conservation.
This month’s event is “Top 10 Urban Birding Tips”. Activist and bird expert Kathe Anderson will lead the event, helping Phoenicians to identify some of the most common birds in the Valley.
Craft beer will be provided by Arizona Wilderness Brewing Co., Gilbert, Arizona’s first brewpub, featuring handcrafted ales and a full menu including burgers, fresh greens, and more.
When: 5:30-7:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month (except July).
Where: Rio Salado Audubon Center, 3131 S. Central Ave., Phoenix.
Details: Admission and snacks are free. Participants pay for beer and wine. 602-468-6470, ext. 103; az.audubon.org.
